Nairobi, March 30- 2500 families have been rendered homeless after a fierce fire struck and raged houses at the Kuwindwa slums in Nairobi.

Kuwindwa slum is in Karen, a stone-throw away from the Bomas of Kenya.

The slum is home to 10,000 families. 2500 of those have been left without shelter or food

The fire started at around 8 pm on the night of Wednesday, March 29 and burnt homes leaving 2500 residents cold and homeless.
One person died in the inferno while scores other sustained injuries.


The Redcross society has asked Kenyans to help in donating food, money and blankets to the families who were left with nothing.
