Nairobi, March 31- Governor Hassan Joho has moved to court to have the CID barred from arresting him until his case is heard in court.
Anticipatory bail allows a person to seek bail in anticipation of an arrest on accusation of having committed a non-bailable offence.
Having been on the spotlight for reportedly forging his academic papers, Joho stands to be arrested as the CID conduct investigation.
In the light of the above, Joho seeks to have the court bar the officers from arresting him until his case is heard and determined.
Joho has been accused of using a fake certificate to join the Mombasa gubernatorial race in 2013 as well as enrol at the University of Nairobi.
He has blamed his current woes on the tiff he had with president Uhuru Kenyatta in Mombasa a few months ago.
Joho had accused Uhuru of using projects launched by previous governments to propagate his political agenda in Mombasa.
At a later address, Uhuru had promised to teach Joho a lesson for meddling in his affairs during his visits to Mombasa.
