After delivering a colourful speech on the last day of the NASA campaigns in Mombasa endorsing Raila Odinga, Wilson Sossion now wants nothing to do with the former Prime Minister.

In an interesting turn of events, he has asked that ODM remove him from the nomination list of Members of the National Assembly.

While speaking at a function in Kabarnet, the KNUT secretary general said he had declined the position so as to continue focusing on fighting for the rights of teachers.

He further revealed that he had applied for the position and was thankful that ODM had given the opportunity to represent Trade Workers in the National Assembly.

“We wrote to all political parties asking them to nominate workers representatives to parliament. If ODM has picked me, that is welcome as we shall diligently represent workers” He further highlighted.

This announcement comes only days after it emerged that seasoned politician and incumbent Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto was being highly considered to take over Sossion’s spot after losing to Jubilee’s Joyce Laboso in the recently concluded elections. He was sent to represent NASA s the minority Chief Whip in the August House.

This is a big blow for Raila who desperately needs influential and vocal individuals as he battles out with Jubilee at the Supreme Court in a couple of days.
